Portugal North Coast

This is the view of Viana do Castelo from the top of the mountain that is the site of Santa Luzia Cathedral. The camera doesn't capture it all. It is a 270 degree view south of the river and the coastline to the north of the river as well as the rest of the town. What a view! Viana is much bigger than King Afonso111 could have imagined in the early 1500s when he had the walled town built. It started to spread outside the walls by the end of the 1500s.
